Paradiset Kville

3/5

Another Pizza place for the ones longing to get away from Swedish pizza!

A good Neapolitan pizza is surprisingly hard to get right, but Paradiset Kville generally nails the food part. The pizzas come with the airy crust, slight char, and soft centre you would expect from a proper Neapolitan-style pizza, making it one of the stronger options on Hisingen.

The challenge starts before the food arrives. There are no vegan pizzas listed on the menu, despite the restaurant carrying vegan cheese and being able to give you a good combination. In theory, this shouldn't be a problem. In practice, the experience depends entirely on who happens to be working that day. Sometimes you'll get detailed guidance on what can be adapted and how. Other times, you'll be met with a vague "we can make almost everything vegan". A confusing statement when most of the menu revolves around meat and dairy.

It's a shame, because the kitchen is clearly doing its part. Once the pizza arrives, most frustrations tend to disappear. The dough is excellent, the ingredients feel well chosen, and the vegan versions rarely feel like an afterthought. If the same care went into helping customers navigate the menu, this would be an easy recommendation.

As it stands, Paradiset Kville serves some genuinely great pizza, but the inconsistent service can make the experience unnecessarily frustrating. The food keeps drawing me back, even on days when the service makes me consider leaving before ordering. That's probably the strongest compliment and criticism I can give.

The Verdict

I really like the food Paradiset is making. Their pizzas are probably in the top 3 in Gothenburg when it comes to dough and baking process. And this is what makes we want to come back, but the service is at the same time very lackluster. No vegan options on the menu is not an issue, but staff that just gives you a blunt “we can make almost everything vegan” is not helpful and feels almost insulting to you as a customer. So, when you get past the point of almost wanting to get up and leave when ordering, you will get really good pizza. But honestly, I wouldn’t want to stay for longer than the duration of eating that fantastic pizza. Typical case of a great place being held back by bad service.
