NK Sushi Takame
Sushi is commonly connected to raw fish of all sorts. But vegan options have been prominent occurrences for a while now. Who can say no to some nice avocado, cucumber and deep fried tofu skin? Trying out sushi places is always a gamble though, so let’s see how NK Sushi Takame right in the centre of Gothenburg holds up.
The only thing that still kept disturbing me, however, was the silence that the place surrounds. It really needs some sort of music, atmosphere and a better feeling to feel welcome. This way it felt a bit more like “eat your food and get out”, which is fine, but for a price point of 175 SEK for 15 pieces of vegan sushi I would like a better feeling than a canteen.
Price:
15 Pieces Plate: 175 SEK
Vegan Deluxe: 149 SEK
The Verdict
Getting good Sushi is always a gamble in Sweden. Most places are below average and shady, and when it comes to vegan options, they are even worse. NK Sushi Takame surprises with a good selection of vegan pieces, crispy tofu, avocado, finely sliced mango and the sorts are a diverse selection and to a high quality. The price is rather high for vegetables however, as well as the atmosphere a bit too eerie for my taste. Come on, just put on some music and make it feel less like a prison canteen. Still, it’s a good place for some decent Sushi.
